2. Engineering Geologic Conditionals and Evaluations of Powerhouse Area
The designed elevation of the lowest foundation of the proposed powerhouse is El. 244m which is located at the depth of 1.5-14.5m underground. Once the foundation is excavated the structures will be placed on the bedrock the lithology of which is sandstone. Sandstone is in weakly-moderately weather state the rock masses have relatively good mechanical properties being blocky structure, with relatively good integrity of rock masses. Its foundation bearing strata are not distributed with weak interbed the bearing capacity antiskid stability and deformation can meet foundation plane requirements. The topographic gradient of the slope behind the powerhouse is 15-20, the gradient gradually turns larger from the slope foot to the slope top the vast majority of the inclined slope is landform of elluvial slope wash deposits with dense vegetation covers being in a naturaaly stable state.
