In conclusion, it was found that Z. hellenicus LK-5G, I. orientalis
MF-121, and S. cerevisiae NBRC 1953 are excellent yeasts capable of
producing ethanol under the severe conditions. Since the LK-5G
strain was the most interesting among the three yeasts tested based
on its ability to produce ethanol from non-edible and renewable
lignocellulosic biomass, further studies should be carried out to
improve these properties.
