Some orders of macroinvertebrates (Plecoptera, Trichoptera andEphemeroptera primarily) are known to be the most sensitiveto pesticide exposure (especially insecticides), showing either adecrease in population numbers or complete absence (Cuffneyet al., 1984; Leonard et al., 1999; Liess and Von Der Ohe, 2005;Schulz and Liess, 2001; Schulz et al., 2002). Since sensitive macroinvertebrates, mean abundance and total abundance of insects weremore abundant in the organic treatment than in the conventionaltreatment, is it suggested that insects, unlike the rest of macroinvertebrates, are affected by the insecticides used in the conventionaltreatment (Rizo-Patrón, 2003a).
