Assessments were compared pre and post
change to determine what impact occurred. Prior
to implementation, students scored a mean of
83.8% on the written assessment and 87.4% on
the practical assessment. Post implementation,
students scored a mean of 88.7% on the written
assessment and 91.6% on the practical assessment.
Comparing the results indicated a net increase
in mean score of 5% for the written assessment
and 4% for the practical assessment. The
impact on grades appeared to be the result of increased
student confidence and enjoyment of the
class.
