The next example is when a driver passes another driver on the right on a two way road that has a paved shoulder. In order for the passing to be legal here the car being passed must be either slowing down, stopped in the main traveled portion of the road, disabled, or preparing to make a left turn and there must be a paved shoulder to pass on. In the next animation, notice that the driver has to cross a solid white line to go around the car stopped for a left turn. Once the driver goes around the stopped car he then signals and comes back into the lane. When doing this the driver will cross the white line again. This is the second example of when crossing a solid line pavement marking is legal.
