Dear all,
We’re in the travel business, and many of us like to travel. I’m writing to update you on our staff booking policy, which helps you save money on accommodation when you book personal travel on Agoda.com. This email will give you some useful information about what the policy is and how to use it.
Please note that this is an interim update. We have some significant improvements in the works, but for now we want to clarify the rules and also simplify the administration of the staff booking benefit. Please be patient as we work to make this useful and easy for you and for the colleagues who are managing this benefit for us.
If you didn’t know about this policy – we offer a 14% discount on personal travel booked on the Agoda site when you use the staff bookings link. Here it is – and you may want to bookmark it for future use: http://sharepoint.agoda.local/HR/SitePages/Staff%20Discount.aspx
With freedom comes responsibility! We want to make sure everyone uses this benefit responsibly, so we’ve updated our policy. You can find the latest version of the policy, attached. This will soon be available on the People team Sharepoint, where you can find other useful information, too: http://sharepoint.agoda.local/HR/SitePages/Home.aspx
Some basic things you need to know:
• You must meet certain qualifications to use the staff discount:
o Be a current employee and use your Agoda email address
o Use the site – we won’t apply discounts retroactively
o Use the site for personal travel (for business travel, you can simply book through www.Agoda.com directly, app or Web)
• Don’t apply additional discounts, rewards, or coupons
• Don’t re-sell discounted rooms.
Because a few people have taken advantage of this privilege and made excessive bookings, we’ve decided to set a limit – 12 bookings per year. But even though it’s May, we’ll allow 12 new bookings for the remainder of this year and won’t count any discounted bookings you’ve already used or made before today.
What’s a booking? It’s defined by a unique Booking ID.
• To be under a single ID, rooms must be of the same category (e.g., “superior” rooms); at the same property; on the same dates.
• Two rooms of different categories (e.g., one superior, one deluxe) count as two bookings; so do two separate reservations at the same hotel on different dates.
When does the new policy go into effect?
It starts today – but won’t affect bookings you’ve already made, even if you haven’t yet started the trip.
Happy traveling!
Best,
Peter
