INTRODUCTION
HIV-1 (Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type-1) is a pathogenic retrovirus of the
lentivirus family and causative agent of AIDS or AIDS related Complex (ARC) [1–3]. HIV
infection targets the monocytes expressing surface CD4 receptors and produces profound
defects in cell-mediated immunity [4]. Overtime infection leads to severe depletion of CD4
T-lymphocytes (T-cells) resulting in opportunistic infections (OIs) such as bacterial, fungal,
viral, protozoal and neoplastic diseases and ultimately death [5].Much of the work [6-22] are
informative to provide key features and a helpful guideline for novel compound designing of
activeness against HIV-1 RT. Search for effective anti HIV molecule has resulted in the
discovery of a number of such molecules which are in clinical use. Efavirenz is one such

PENDAHULUAN

keluarga lentivirus dan agen penyebab AIDS atau AIDS terkait Complex (ARC) [1-3]. HIV
infeksi menargetkan monosit mengungkapkan CD4 reseptor permukaan dan menghasilkan mendalam
cacat pada imunitas diperantarai sel [4]. Infeksi lembur mengakibatkan hilangnya berat CD4
T-limfosit (T-sel) yang mengakibatkan infeksi oportunistik (IO) seperti bakteri, jamur,
