In the literature on natural resources and environmental policy, it would be difficult to find an idea (aconcept) that is as misunderstood as that of the commons and common property.

The mischief to arise from the continuing failure to understand common property is perverse in both scholarly discussions, and in public policy formulation.

Dalam literatur tentang sumber daya alam dan kebijakan lingkungan, akan sulit untuk menemukan ide (aconcept) yaitu sebagai disalahpahami sebagai bahwa dari commons dan milik umum. Dosa muncul dari kegagalan terus memahami properti umum adalah sesat di kedua diskusi ilmiah, dan dalam perumusan kebijakan publik.
