By sponsoring a cutting-edge viewing equipment project for the British Museum in 2009, Russia’s State Hermitage Museum in 2008 and the Louvre Museum in France in 2007, Korean Air has accomplished introduction services for collections of art in the Korean language in world’s 3 best museums.
Through this, Koreans are able to appreciate the masterpieces of world-famous artists, guided in the Korean language through the latest PDA in the above museums.
By providing a Korean language service in world’s 3 best museums (the very first time for an Asian language), Korean Air has enhanced the prestige of the Korean language globally and was decorated by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism on 20th May 2008, for provision of a great opportunity to introduce the excellence of Korean culture to the world.
This is the first case in which a company has been decorated with an appreciation plaque from the Government for boosting the national prestige of the Korean language. Korean Air will continue to promote sponsorships of international cultural heritage so that the Korean people, no matter in which part of the world we may be, will feel pride and be touched.
We will endeavor to carry out the role of a messenger of culture through global messages or activities, allowing spectators from all round the globe more convenient and in-depth appreciation of international cultural heritage.
