RC: Thailand is certainly making progress in reducing the use of illegal software, but more can also be done to speed up the progress. The support that has been given by the government in enforcing the copyright laws, as well as support for educational activities has contributed significantly to the progress made this far. We have seen a steady decline in the rate of unlicensed software installations over the past 10 years, but the rate is still uncomfortably higher that the regional Asia-Pacific rate of 62%. I believe that through a close working relationship between the government and the private sector, we will be able to drive that rate much lower in the coming years.
