What is Clinical Supervision?Clinical supervision is a process of professional support and learning in which nurses are assisted in developing their practice through regular discussion time with experienced and knowledgeable colleagues (Fowler 1996). During clinical supervision nurses employ the processes of reflection in order to identify and meet their need for professional development. The purpose of clinical supervision is to improve nursing practice and therefore needs to be focused on nurse‑patient interaction (Van Ooijen 2000).
