In sum, tourism involvement can be conceptualised as multidimensional
construct consisting of centrality to lifestyle,
self-expression, and attraction. Therefore, based on Havitz et al.
(1994) centrality to lifestyle is defined as the extent to which individuals’
social networks revolve around an activity, and whether
individuals’ lifestyles are meaningfully impacted by their participation
in other words, that refers to how important to an individual
the activity, product or experience is. Self-expression stresses the
degree to which individuals express their self concept or individuality
through the situation or the tourist activity (Selin and
Howard, 1988). The third, attraction, is conceived as the perceived
importance of an activity or situation and pleasure derived from
participation (Funk et al., 2004).
