Intoxication Assault
Intoxication assault is very, very simple. You drink, you drive, you injure someone. What does that mean? It could mean something as minor as you are driving drunk and hit another car. The driver of the other car breaks a finger in the collision and you get to go to prison. However, it could mean that in the same collision you left someone paralyzed, unable to walk, all over one too many beers. The penalty for doing this is at least 2 years in prison. Or, it could be as much as 10 years in prison. Either way you will have that conviction on your record for the rest of your life. And the person you injured all over your reckless, self-centered drinking well they may be spending the rest of their life in a wheelchair thanks to you. This accidental act also carries fines of up to $10,000 and a driver's license (or driving privilege) suspension of not less than 90 days nor more than 1 year. Every person who is convicted of this says the same thing, "it was an accident; I did not mean for this to happen". Please never let this happen to you. You and your life are too valuable to suffer an experience like this.
