Mobile learning can add an educational context to any physical environment. With the use of ad
hoc networks and mobile authoring tools, we can create an ‘on-the-fly’ [3] learning scenario, where
educators and learners can create, share, and view content from their mobile devices without the
need for server–client or infrastructure-based liaisons. The goal of this paper is to present a new
perspective to m-learning, learning objects (LOs), and content sharing and management in an m-
learning system. We will discuss a lightweight system and the creation of a leaner LO format as
well as the integration of ad hoc networks into an m-learning environment.
