In one randomized trial involving 33 patients
with hyperemesis gravidarum, acupuncture reduced
symptoms, as compared with sham acupuncture,
whereas a trial comparing traditional
versus sham acupuncture in 55 patients with hyperemesis
gravidarum showed no differences in
outcomes between the two study groups
