For statistics purposes, the Meetings part of MICE is described as corporate and is divided into three categories: International Meetings (participants from at least two continents), Regional Meetings (participants from several countries inside one continent) and National Offshore Meetings (participants from one country only). Incentive travel is a reward. It is pleasure / leisure travel offered as a motivational tool for increased productivity or meeting corporate achievement targets. Conventions are defined as either “Association” or “Government”. In the former, individuals with similar careers (medical professionals, for example) are meeting while the latter is self-explanatory. An Exhibition is a Trade Fair promoting trade between businesses or is designed to raise consumer awareness of a product or service. Exhibition types are defined by the target audience. A Public Show is aimed at consumers. A Trade Show is aimed at trade companies. A Trade and Public Show targets both groups.
