The primary purpose for Fabtech’s visit to Thailand is to understand the capability of GSE’s manufacturing facility producing materials. Prior to undertaking a visit to the GSE Thailand Rayong Factory and Laboratory, Fabtech have prepared a list of items that are of particular importance, primarily centered on the quality control procedures in place throughout the manufacturing process.
The list provided in this document has been constructed as a questionnaire, and Fabtech would appreciate if this questionnaire would be completed by a GSE representative and returned by approximately Tuesday 26th November, so that Fabtech may gain a better understanding of GSE’s manufacturing process and quality assurance methodologies.
Upon visiting the Rayong Factory and Laboratory, we wish to review the manufacturing processes and methodologies which will provide us with understanding of and confidence in materials being manufactured to specification. Attached are a set of example technical specifications end examples of defective HDPE materials observed in the Australian market in recent times.
Projects currently in the tender stage, such as the QGC NWTP Brine Pond and the Arrow Daandine 2 Brine Dam include significant geomembrane and geonet material supply volumes (925,000m2 and 660,000m2 respectively). Fabtech view these projects as excellent opportunities to work with our suppliers to improve the quality systems right through the supply chain as well as during installation.
We look forward to receiving your responses to the questionnaire provided below, and also to visiting the Rayong Factory in late November. We would also like to thank GSE for the opportunity to visit the Rayong Factory and to provide our inputs on the manufacturing quality assurance processes.
