Problems with Internet Explorer 11
Last night, we prematurely pushed Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) out to some of you, which may have resulted in your inability to use certain applications – BST, Convero, Fusion, Hyperion and Timenet and some SharePoint sites. We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience, frustration and unproductivity this has caused you.
As described in our announcement on November 10th, Microsoft will cease support for all old versions of Internet Explorer on January 12th. In order to ensure we are on a supported version, we will push out the upgrade to all users this week. Unfortunately, not all of our applications are compatible with this new version, so they must be run in “Enterprise Mode”. This is a setting that must be enabled through a patch that is applied after IE11 is installed on your machine. We are currently pushing out the patch to those users who were prematurely upgraded and do not already have the patch installed. If this impacts you, you will see a message that looks like this within the next two hours:
You will have the option of Restart now, or Snooze (delay for later). If you have work open you can choose to delay, then reboot the computer yourself when convenient. Once restarted, applications requiring Enterprise Mode will automatically invoke that setting.
Note: In some cases your computer may be pending a reboot from earlier patch installations. If you are having difficulties viewing web applications, it would be advisable to reboot your computer even if you did not receive the above notice.
We will send an additional communication tomorrow to further explain the upgrade process, which will happen overnight on Wednesday, 16th December.
If you continue to have issues using these applications, please log a ticket with your local IT Helpdesk.
