I’m writing to update you on our progress migrating accounting activities to MBS (Genpact). Our wave 3 group of business units (India and Malaysia) will commence transition of activities on 15 August. Following the approach from the prior transitions we will gradually increase the work performed by MBS incrementally each week until the official Go Live Date, at this point MBS will assume full responsibility. It is expected that MBS will assume full responsibility on 17 October when we will officially “Go live”.
Over the last several months, the MDLZ controlling and MBS teams have shown huge commitment and collaboration as they have documented processes, trained the MBS team and transferred knowledge of MDLZ processes and expectations.
August 15th represents an important milestone as it marks the official start of the “Ramp-Up” period. Throughout the ramp-up Mondelez Finance colleagues will partner with MBS to ensure accuracy and completeness. If you interact with our controlling group you will be informed of a new contact. Over the ramp-up period you should use the new MBS team member as your primary contact, keeping your MDLZ contact informed as well. This will ensure that the MBS contact is able to experience the full scope of doing their role, with the security of the MDLZ partner available to guide them. It will also help us identify any areas where the MBS team member might benefit from further training.
What is changing?
Accounting for all routine items will move to MBS. This includes month end reporting (HFM and FiT), balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany processes, fixed assets and general accounting. MBS (Genpact) will be your first point of contact for these activities.
What is not changing?
The integrity of our USGAAP accounts is critical to MDLZ. We will not compromise on accuracy or completeness. Over the ramp-up period the work of our MDLZ colleagues in overseeing MBS is critical in protecting our reporting standards.
Our Financial Controllers will still retain oversight and approval of the final accounts and will also handle complex accounting areas. They will also continue to manage statutory accounting, external reporting and indirect tax activities.
How will I work with MBS colleagues?
The new team is based at Genpact in Noida, India, and will be readily contactable. They are set up in the global address book and can be reached, as you do any other MDLZ colleague, by both e-mail and Lync. I encourage all staff to reach out to them exactly as you have done with the current team, and to welcome them into our finance community. Any calls or video conferences you previously invited the MDLZ team to, you should invite the new MBS member to.
