Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born in Salzburg on January 27, 1756, son of Leopold Mozart. At a very early age he showed musical gifts; as early as age six he was playing before the Bavarian elector and the Austrian empress. Mozart and his family went on tour from 1763 to 1766, during which Mozart played for many French and English royal families. All of his audiences were stunned by his musical talent, and it was during this time that Mozart wrote his early symphonies.
