Charoen Pokphand Group, including Charoen Pokphand Foods and CP Retailing & Marketing, continues to lead ready meals sales in Thailand, accounting for 40% of retail value sales in 2012 due to the popularity of brands like CP, Ezy Go and Deli Thai. The company offers a wide variety of menus including main courses, appetisers and desserts. Charoen Pokphand Group utilises its subsidiaries, CF Fresh Mart and 7-Eleven, as key distribution channels for its ready meals and also offers microwaves and boiled water at 7-Eleven and CP Fresh Mart outlets in order to offer greater convenience. During 2012-2013, the company looked to expand production capacity for its ready meals, bakery and frozen processed food products. Charoen Pokphand Group plans to build five new factories and to expand production capacity for its two existing factories via a total investment of Bt3.5 billion. For ready meal products, the company will build a new factory in Pathumtani province in order to produce “Daily Thai” and “Easy Go” and to exclusively sell products in 7-Eleven. This will help drive total production capacity for ready meals to 750,000 boxes a day.
