As an American comic artist, Art Spiegelman is probably best known for his award winning comic memoir, Maus, which recounts the events of the Holocaust. With the help of his father, Vladek Spiegelman, the artist gets an insight into the lives of his Father and his Mother as they struggled to survive the occupation of Poland by Nazi Germany during the Second World War, how they survived in the Auschwitz Extermination camp and their lives in the aftermath.
