Regarding the high staff’s turnover in the retail industry, it is important for the company to remain constant in its communication with its employees to avoid it. Employees are generally closer to customers and to the way the store is operating on a day-to-day basis (Example: efficient of rota schedule, communication with upper level of hierarchy, fairness toward staff and customers). For this reason, it is important for Tesco to obtain their feedback. Regular surveys may be a useful tool as it gives them the opportunity to communicate anonymously with the company, leading to more honest feedbacks. (Stokes & Lomax, 2008) Consequently, Tesco can get information from primary sources in order evaluate various situations and eventual solve issues (Example: motivation of its employee). Additionally, employees may feel that there are taken in consideration by Tesco which may improve their productivity and, therefore, benefit to shareholders as well.
