A number of different toxic effects have been noted following chronic exposure to VCM, including coughing, sneezing, and
lung inflammation. Gastrointestinal symptoms include abdominal pain, gastrointestinal bleeding, nausea, vomiting,
indigestion, diarrhea, jaundice, weight loss, and anorexia. Increase in liver and spleen size has been noted. Other symptoms
include fatigue, blood clotting disorders, and a cold, tingling sensation in the hands and feet. A condition in which the small
bones of the hand weaken has also been noted. Occupational exposure is associated with an increased incidence of
angiosarcoma of the liver (see below, Carcinogen Status).
