Clarkson (1995) presented conclusions from a 10-year research program and developed a framework and methodology, grounded in the reality of corporate behavior, for analysing and evaluating CSP. The author summarised approaches, models, and methodologies used in more than 70 field studies of CSP from 1983 to 1993. Further, the principal conclusions derived from the data have been discussed at length. The research indicated that corporations manage relationships with stakeholder groups rather than with society as a whole. Thus, it is important to distinguish between social issues and stakeholder issues.
