Phenol compounds occur in plants, in which these compounds have aromatic groups strongly absorbing the UV light spectrum. Total phenol content determination uses gallic acid as standard solution that possesses maximum absorption at the wavelength of 750 nm (Devi et al, 2008), with Folin Ciocalteau reagents (Harborne, 2006).
