care for a substantial period (Ringborg, Berg,
Norman, Westgren, & Jonsson, 2006) and because
their sucking behavior is immature (Nyqvist, Sjoden,
& Ewald, 1999), the VPT dyads are a clinically more
challenging population on the initiation and
sustainability in breastfeeding than preterm infants
(PT, 32-36 gw).
