Chateau Barrail Meyney 2011 was made in France in a nice Bordeaux blend; 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. It has a deep and rich red colour. The wine has earthy, funky and musty notes. Hints of fennel and anise tasting like black/red liquorice reach your mouth as the wine opens up. With a silky mouthfeel, flavours of dark cherry and spice enter the arena as well. Without being heavy, this wine is seen as medium bodied with a dry, elegant and long finish. Bordeaux reds tend to be lower in alcohol and are sophisticated and elegant. This bottle is Magnum sized.
