Dear Xovic
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) announced that from 1st of April 2016 significant changes to the provisions for Lithium Batteries will become effective.
The change concerns Lithium Ion batteries which are shipped as excepted Dangerous Goods at the moment (concerns UN3480, Packing Instruction 965, Section II = "excepted")
Starting April 1st, 2016, we are no longer able to ship Lithium Ion batteries as excepted Dangerous Goods by airfreight on Passenger aircrafts.
Moreover the state of charge of the lithium ion batteries must not to exceed 30% capacity of their rated design capacity when they need to be shipped by airfreight.
Please note that this change concerns just batteries which will be shipped stand-alone.
That means: lithium ion batteries which are contained in equipment (devices, monitors) or
packed with equipment are NOT affected.
Actions
1.please separate the PO for stand alone battery as goods will ship via ocean freight. Please be reminded to keep your inventory and spare the times for shipment as well.
2.please declare as importer of records so as to avoid further complications.
Thanks
