I recently had to cancel my Thai Airways round trip flight to Bangkok from JFK. I was told that I would have to pay a $100 fee, which is not a problem, and that the refund would appear on my credit card within the next 30 days, again not a problem. My issue is that they will not give me any kind of receipt for this transaction. Meaning that I want some kind of written confirmation that my flight has in fact been cancelled and that I will be receiving a refund. I don't feel like this is unreasonbale, and it seems to me that in the United States they are required to give me some sort of receipt. I am going to call them again today and see what I can do. But I just want to avoid a situation where my refund is lost in the shuffle and I am out $1000, with no proof that my ticket was cancelled.
Has anyone else been in a similar situation?
