Similarly, in the present study, there was a marked difference in the percentage of diabetics with BDI scores ≥14 found among those who had experienced 4 or more types of childhood trauma compared to those who had experienced none(41.2%vs 4.8%).Our findings suggest the possibility that ascertainment of history of childhood trauma may be useful in evaluating the risk for diabetics to develop depressive symptoms and thus have a raised risk of poor medication adherence and complications.
