The critical review by Talebian-Kia

The critical review by Talebian-Kiakalaieh et al. [75] demonstrated that catalyst coking and deactivation prevent the immediate industrialization and commercialization of direct CG transformation to acrolein.
Katryniok et al. [76] added that the dehydration of glycerol to acrolein is not yet suitable for industrial applications. However, the demand for acrolein is predicted to increase because of the preference of consumers for green/biobased materials, such as superabsorbent baby diapers produced from acrylic acid. Table 7 presents a comparison of the performance of CG and PG in acro-lein production.
