We showed HRQoL, as measured by the SF-36, significantly improved over time for the intervention group in comparison with the standard homecare (P < 0.001). Similar patterns were seen in both MCS and PCS. A further difference between the two groups related to the content of activities undertaken by the support worker to assist the older person in the home.
