This dual-use property should be split between investment property and property, plant and equipment.
Although actual sale of separate floors is not possible due to the current legal status, the parts of the building could be sold separately. As the restriction is purely of a procedural nature, in our view:
• the ftwo loors that are rented out should be accounted for separately as investment property and measured at fair value
• the remainder of the building is owner-occupied and, therefore, should be accounted for separately as property, plant and equipment.
