In the context of globalization, the evolution of computer network technology (CNT)
has premised on the accelerated development of English Language Teaching (ELT) in
terms of its application to support and increase non-native English students’ engagement
in mastering the linguistic knowledge and acquiring the intercultural awareness. CNT has
valued the substantial contribution of integrative approaches to Computer-assisted
Language Learning (CALL) in ELT. The so-called Integrative CALL is the direct result
of the two most prominent tools - Multimedia and Internet.
In Vietnam, the total number of Internet users, according to VNNIC (Vietnam
Internet Network Information Center), accounted for 31% of the overall Vietnamese
population by the end of 2010 and 72% of Internet users have been devoted to online
activities for learning and doing research (Cimigo, 2011). Among these, web-based
English language education has flourished and widely been recognized as one of the most
popular CALL applications. Nonetheless, not all ELT websites are pedagogically and
technically well established due to a dearth of standardized unity and management
(Lancien, 1998, cited in Kartal & Uzun, 2010). Therefore, this report is principally aimed
at conducting a systematic evaluation of the www.eslvideo.com by reviewing both
technical and pedagogical aspects in line with its incorporation into the English for
specific purposes (ESP) classroom for students of hospitality at Saigontourist Hospitality
College (STHC). In recognition of its strengths and weaknesses, a lesson plan is
constructed on how to utilize this website to teach listening comprehension for those ESP
students. Also, some of the recommendations are put forward to enhance the quality of
the website and thus help maximize students’ listening comprehension and learning
autonomy

Trong bối cảnh toàn cầu hóa, sự phát triển của công nghệ mạng máy tính (CNT)
đã tiền đề về sự phát triển nhanh của English Language Teaching (ELT) trong
điều kiện ứng dụng của nó để hỗ trợ và tăng tương tác tiếng Anh của sinh viên không phải bản địa
trong việc nắm vững các kiến thức ngôn ngữ và mua lại nhận thức văn hóa. CNT đã
có giá trị đóng góp đáng kể của phương pháp tiếp cận tích hợp để máy tính hỗ trợ
học ngôn ngữ (CALL) trong giảng dạy tiếng Anh. Cái gọi là CALL Integrative là kết quả trực tiếp
của hai công cụ nổi bật nhất - Đa phương tiện và Internet.
Ở Việt Nam, tổng số người sử dụng Internet, theo VNNIC (Việt Nam
Trung tâm thông tin mạng Internet), chiếm 31% toàn bộ Việt
dân số vào cuối năm 2010 và 72% người sử dụng Internet đã được dành cho mạng
hoạt động cho việc học tập và nghiên cứu (Cimigo, 2011). Trong số này, dựa trên web
giáo dục Anh ngữ đã phát triển mạnh mẽ và rộng rãi được công nhận là một trong những hầu hết
các ứng dụng phổ biến CALL. Tuy nhiên, không phải tất cả các trang web ELT là sư phạm và
kỹ thuật cũng được thành lập do sự thiếu thống nhất tiêu chuẩn hóa và quản lý
(Lancien, 1998, trích dẫn trong Kartal & Uzun, 2010). Vì vậy, báo cáo này chủ yếu nhằm
vào việc tiến hành đánh giá hệ thống của www.eslvideo.com bằng cách xem xét cả hai
khía cạnh kỹ thuật và sư phạm phù hợp với kết hợp của nó vào tiếng Anh cho
mục đích cụ thể (ESP) lớp học dành cho sinh viên của các khách sạn tại Saigontourist Hospitality
College ( STHC). Để ghi nhận những điểm mạnh và điểm yếu của nó, một kế hoạch bài học được
