Dr Lila Landowski is a neuroscientist, lecturer, and science communicator. She is the 2015 Premier's Young Achiever of the Year, and a finalist for Young Australian of the Year in 2016. Lila completed her PhD in Medical Research (Neuroscience) at UTAS in 2014. As a neuroscientist, her research focus is in axon
guidance, neural repair mechanisms and therapeutic development for nerve injury. She is currently testing potential therapeutic agents for neuropathy. Lila has been teaching with the University of Tasmania since 2009, and was appointed as a unit coordinator and lecturer and with the Wicking Dementia Research & Education Centre in 2014. She teaches neuroanatomy and neurophysiology with a dementia focus. Lila is a regular guest on ABC radio, talking about the weird and wonderful world of science.
